What a great membership meeting this morning! We had Dr. Jim Miller and Ray Dean discuss the strategies of the South-Central Mountain Economic Development Association. There was some fantastic information regarding the wind generator development in northern Lincoln County, Sun Zia development, and insight to the current state of broadband availability. I have attached the Economic Development Plan in its entirety for your review.
After the meeting, I heard from a few of our members stating they would like to become more involved and possibly start a “Community Development” committee at the board level. I will take the idea to the board at the end of the month to discuss further.
Keli Cox presented Angie Olivas with her Realtor of the Year plaque. Congratulations Angie!
Keli Cox also outlined the work of the Bylaws Committee and the work to that remains to complete the process. It is important for the membership to be able to address their questions, make comments, and ensure our final Bylaws are the best they can be to serve the membership. We will be sending out the original bylaws, the original bylaws with revisions noted, as well as the ballot with each item to be voted on. We hope to have the items in your inbox by mid-February.
Our March Monthly Membership Meeting will be dedicated to answering questions, listening to comments and addressing any issues that may arise. It is important the membership have time to digest and discuss before moving to a vote. It's also important to keep this process moving, but not so quickly that people don’t feel they have had time to do their due diligence.
Please mark your calendars for March 6, 2018 at 9:00AM at ENMU – Ruidoso. Snacks will be provided.
