April 2018 Membership Meeting Recap
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend.
First, I would like to welcome Kayla Robison to our Board Office as our new Administrative Assistant. When you are in the neighborhood, stop by the office and introduce yourself. We had a great meeting this morning, and thank you to everyone who was able to attend. Our sponsor this month was Deborah Cooksey from Aflac Insurance in Alamogordo, and Sylvia Lemmon from California. I have attached their information to this email for your review. Aflac offers group policies, available at lower costs than individual policies, with no additional cost to the Association, and only three members need to participate. There was interest from the group this morning to obtain more detailed information regarding group policies. I plan to present the information to the Board of Director's in April, so stay tuned for updates. Bradford Dyjak and Lori Carpenter presented the GIS Zoning Maps the Village of Ruidoso has been working on over the past several years. They will be updating categories and expanding capabilities to help you better serve your customers. There is discussion and plans, though not solidified, on adding Short Term Rentals on the maps. They mentioned they will be soliciting input from the Realtor community when determining the details of the information. I will keep you posted as I receive updates. We will be altering our June Membership Meeting date to Friday, June 8, 2018 at 12:00 PM. Ruidoso Downs Race Track will be hosting our meeting with Jeff True, General Manager, as our guest speaker. It will be exciting to hear about all the future plans the owners have for the race track. They will be providing us with free Turf Club tickets, and sandwiches for lunch. Members are welcome to stay after the meeting and enjoy the races. We will have tickets available to members early in May to be picked up at the Board Office. Please mark your calendars for April 20 Property Manager's Breakfast and Learn meeting. There are substantial changes proposed from the Real Estate Commission, and it could have impact on all agents. One of the proposals is all Vendors (plumbers, housekeepers, landscapers, etc.) carry a $1,000,000 liability policy and the Broker must verify. I encourage you to attend if possible. All the Best, Cindi Cindi Clayton Davis Qualifying Broker, Juniper Ridge Real Estate 2018 RLCAR President
