Our sponsors for this month’s meeting was Nathan Thomas of Ruidoso Mortgage and Sue Harmon from Lincoln County Abstract and Title. Please thank our sponsors when you see them! If you missed it, the breakfast spread was amazing with savory croissants, fresh fruit, yummy breads……
Darien Ross, Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee presented each of the following recipients with a $500 scholarship:
Breck Gavin, Ruidoso High School going to Texas Tech
Jazmine Nava, Ruidoso High School going to New Mexico State University
Joyce Anne Cooper, Hondo Valley Public Schools going to New Mexico State University
Kathryn Fernandez, Ruidoso High School going to New Mexico State University
Naomi Chavez, Ruidoso High School going to Texas Tech
Pat Greener with the Weed Warriors, a division of the Keep Ruidoso Beautiful campaign, was there to seek involvement from our Realtor community. She is a feisty 78-year-old, who is out and about town digging up Musk Thistle, Star Thistle, and Bull Thistle plants to keep our Village safe from these invasive species. The size of the group has dwindled, and she is seeking help from anyone, whether it’s an hour a week or helping get the word out to the community. There is also a need to educate our property owners, sellers and buyers, of the local ordinance requiring property owners to rid their property of anything on the New Mexico Noxious Weed List. The group is also looking for financial assistance to purchase the 12% vinegar used to kill the thistles. Pat can be reached at 575-257-6095 for further information.

The Fall RANM Conference is in coordination with the Housing Summit. This summit offers over 50 workshops and breakout sessions, mainly on Workforce Housing. I encourage those interested in this issue to attend.
If you have not completed your Call to Action, please do so. If unsure how to respond, please text me at 575-808-1500 and I will text you the link.
We will not be having a membership meeting in August and will have tour every Tuesday to Labor Day. Our next Membership Meeting will be held on September 11, 2018.
All the Best,
