PRESIDENT ELECT CANDIDATES

 

Bob Moroney, MKKB Real Estate

 

My wife Kristine and I moved from Chicago to Ruidoso in January 2000 after purchasing the West Winds Lodge and Condos. We operated that hospitality property for six years during which time, in 2002, I became licensed as a Qualifying Broker.  I opened White Mountain Realty and operated that brokerage until merging into BuyRuidoso.com with Doug Siddens Realty in 2008 which we operated in the old post office building through 2016. 

 

Following this I was the Kansas, Missouri, Louisiana and New Mexico State Designated Broker for Real Broker LLC, a New York City based tech brokerage startup, having secured licenses in those states. Concurrently and following my Real Broker association, I became the Designated State Broker for SRE.com (Smart Real Estate), a Southern California brokerage tech start up, in Kansas, Missouri and Arizona, having picked up the AZ license in 2017. 
 
Having now disassociated from both positions, I'm focusing on re-initializing a local sales focus as Owner / Broker at MKKB Real Estate on Rio Street here in Ruidoso.
 
Personally, I'm more inclined to engage in commercial transactions as I find them both more interesting and challenging. I've represented Cattle Baron, City Bank and Inn of the Mountain Gods to name some entities with who I've worked and with whose legal departments I was able to pass muster. :).  As a QB for 17 years I've completed or reviewed enough residential contracts to believe myself to me competent in this practice specialty as well.
 
Regards property management experience, we've been Condo Association Manager for the Ruidoso River Resort Condominium Owners' Association since 2013 as well as servicing 34 individual property management agreements for nightly rentals at the River Resort for the past 6 years. We also operated Shadow Mountain Lodge for 18 months for City Bank when the property was in receivership. 
 
Other Experience: After graduating from DePaul University in Chicago I worked in commercial insurance in the city for nine years. Boredom then set in and the entrepreneurial bug got a hold of me and for the next ten years I was partners in three different tech startups in Chicago for the next decade before moving to Ruidoso. 
 
My interest in technology still persisted here in small town New Mexico as in 2005 I became a partner in Go West Marketing though 2010. As a company company, we created and managed a tourism web site for Ruidoso, GoRuidoso.com as well as the Inn of the Mountain Gods and Ski Apache web sites for 4 years and performed digital marketing services for many smaller clients as well.
 
I'm always looking for real estate opportunities here in town and am currently a commercial landlord for a few properties around Ruidoso as well. 
 
Other Stuff: I'm the Vice President and Design Committee Chair for the Ruidoso Midtown Association. We're the new designated Main Street district group and the Association is tasked with improving our Midtown area. Lots of fun. I'm also the current director / broker on the RLCAR Board. It's been a great experience sitting on the Board this year and it prompted my interest in wanting to continue to serve over the next three years in the presidential cycle.
 
I'm confident my background as a Realtor since '02 and as an independent business owner for the past 30 years has provided a wealth of experience and knowledge I can contribute to our Association and pursuing creative ways to improve it.

I am pleased to accept the nomination to run for the position of President-Elect of the Ruidoso/Lincoln County Association of  Realtors. If elected, I will proudly serve and pledge to uphold the highest standards as I carry out the duties of this position. 

I grew up in Texas and attended the University of Arkansas through my Masters in Ag Economics. Since finishing my education, I have lived in the Ruidoso area. I began my career in the vacation rental business as operations manager for a local management company but soon I decided that real estate sales was where I wanted to be. I have been a licensed realtor since 2013. Each year I have met or exceeded my goals and believe there is no better place to live and work than this resort community.

Cindy Lynch, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Lynch Realty

 

I am an Associate Broker and Co-Owner of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Lynch Realty.  Since getting my license in November 1989, I have been highly involved with my local, state and national associations and am proud to be a member of the REALTOR® family.  Often I use the analogy that my blood turned blue (REALTOR® Blue) which puts the life, passion and enthusiasm I have for service.  I am committed to furthering our cause…ethics in business, adherence to local, state and national laws and ordinances, protection of property ownership rights for home owners and renters alike.  I would consider it a great honor to continue to serve and respectively ask for your vote for me as Secretary/Treasurer for RLCAR.  Thank you.

 

Darien Ross, Pinnacle Real Estate

 

After working 30 years with a Fortune 500 company in NY, I retired and intentionally moved to NM to do Real Estate in 2005. I feel that the customer service training that I was required to take annually has helped me be successful in the Real Estate profession. Not only that, working in Research has ingrained in me to not just get answers but to learn as much as possible about any aspect of this business as questions arise.

Not many remember when being sworn in we are asked to be involved in our community, so I took that to heart! I was a member of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s posse and was the 2009 Pony Express Trail Ride Chair and brought that 3-day ride back to Lincoln County. I coached youth recreation soccer for several years until I was hired to coach the Lady Warrior Varsity soccer team from 2009 – 2013. I resigned in 2013 so I would be able to focus on Cowboy Mounted Shooting, which I still do today.

In 2009 I became the Lincoln County Red Kettle Campaign director; I am the President of Hoofbeats organization which is a life skills program for youth.

I brought Cowboy Mounted Shooting back to the Cowboy Symposium and have been very instrumental in bringing the cutting horse demonstration last year and this year will be an educational ‘parade’ of different breeds of horses.

I am a volunteer for the High Mountain Youth Project here in Ruidoso and support and volunteer for the Main Street Restoration events.

Currently I am the RLCAR Scholarship Chair. I was the board secretary/treasurer when the previous AE was arrested for stealing from the Board. I would like to say that my involvement as secretary and requesting copies of receipts to determine where the major expenses were helped raise a flag to investigate the finances further.

With that said, I think I am very capable and qualified to be Secretary/ Treasurer. However, despite that, I do believe that my opponent is even more qualified. Her involvement in Real Estate has been at a much higher level than mine. Where I put my time into our community, she has spent hours with legislation at a local, state level and national level.

Gavin Bigger, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Lynch Realty

 

I grew up here in Ruidoso and then moved to Albuquerque for college on the Lottery Scholarship. After I received my degrees from UNM and my daughter, Bailey, was born (Literally happened on the same day, December 16th) I moved back home and almost immediately started working on obtaining my Real Estate License. Initially, I worked in property management (vacation rentals) but this year I have operated solely as an Associate Broker. As you all know, it can be very trying work sometimes, but I find it very rewarding and have enjoyed learning from working with the members of this association. I serve as a committee member on RPAC currently, the politics that govern our industry interest me because I fully intend to make a career for myself out of this line of work. If we do not actively remain informed about our industry and community we cannot operate at our best or regulate ourselves safely. So, if I am elected to our local board I will commit myself to the constant continued education of our industry at our level and beyond, I will designate time to carry out our functions successfully, and will bring a positive attitude and perspective to our team!

My name is Jeana Stoddard and I have lived in Ruidoso for 9 years.  I have been a licensed realtor for the past 5 years.  I started out my career by assisting with property management at Century 21 and then went on to pursue my real estate license.  I feel like I have  been "raised" in this industry by some of the best and am so thankful for the knowledge that I have gained by being around seasoned real estate professionals.  I feel extremely blessed to have been serving with the Southern New Mexico Realty family for the past year and I look forward to many more.  I am serving on the Budget and Finance Committee. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Alan for 31 years and we have a precious daughter, Briana who just started to UTEP to college this year.  For me...it's all about the relationships. I love serving my clients and finding the perfect home for them.
