Historic Downtown

Much of Carrizozo's early 20th-century architecture still lines historic 12th Street. Today, these restored buildings are home to local galleries, studios, shops, and businesses that celebrate the town's artistic and western heritage.

Valley of Fires

Just south of town, the Valley of Fires Recreation Area showcases one of New Mexico's youngest lava flows. Formed more than 5,000 years ago, the dramatic volcanic landscape offers hiking trails, wildlife viewing, camping, and unforgettable scenery.
