Who can join?

Membership is open to licensed New Mexico real estate associate brokers, qualifying brokers, appraisers, and individuals or businesses that support the real estate industry through our Affiliate Partnership program. Applicants must meet the membership requirements established by the Association and the National Association of REALTORS® where applicable.

How much are dues?

Membership dues vary depending on your membership type and whether you are joining as a REALTOR®, MLS Subscriber, Appraiser, or Affiliate Member. Do I have to join the MLS?

Accepted Answer

No. REALTOR® membership and MLS subscription are separate. However, if you do not subscribe to the RLCAR MLS, you must maintain a subscription to another REALTOR® association-owned MLS in the United States as your MLS of Choice.

Can appraisers join?

Accepted Answer

Yes. State-licensed or state-certified appraisers are eligible to join RLCAR as REALTOR® members. Appraisers may also subscribe to the RLCAR MLS if they meet the MLS participation requirements.

How long does approval take?

If you're joining in person, please schedule an appointment with our office. After we receive your completed application and required documents, most memberships are processed within 1 to 2 business days.

Can I join if I'm already a member elsewhere?

Accepted Answer

Your RLCAR membership connects you with resources, education, advocacy, and professional relationships designed to support your business. Members have access to local education and events, REALTOR® resources and benefits through NMAR and NAR, local advocacy and community involvement opportunities, and the support of your local REALTOR® association.MLS access and related technology services are available separately based on eligibility and applicable fees.

What's the difference between RLCAR, NMAR, NAR and the MLS?

Your REALTOR® membership connects you to three levels of the REALTOR® organization, each working for you in different ways.RLCAR is your local association. We provide local support, education, advocacy, professional connections, community involvement, and resources specific to Lincoln County.NMAR is your state association. It represents REALTORS® across New Mexico through statewide advocacy, education, legal and industry resources, and support for local associations.NAR is your national association. It provides national advocacy, research, professional resources, member benefits, and the standards and Code of Ethics associated with the REALTOR® organization.The MLS is different. RLCAR's MLS is a professional marketplace where eligible real estate professionals share listing information and cooperate in serving buyers and sellers. MLS participation and services are separate from REALTOR® membership and may have additional eligibility requirements and fees.Think of it this way: RLCAR is local, NMAR is state, NAR is national, and the MLS is a business tool.
